The IBDP English Language & Literature (Paper 1) Prep course is a focused program designed for students who find Paper 1 challenging, whether they are just starting IB or currently struggling to score well.
With 20 lessons, each lasting 1.5 hours, the course provides structured, step-by-step training in how to analyze texts effectively and how to turn analysis into high-scoring responses.
This course is suitable for students at any stage of the IB Diploma Programme. For students starting IB, it builds a strong analytical foundation from the beginning. For students already in IB, it helps identify weaknesses, correct ineffective habits, and replace them with clear, marks-driven strategies.
Throughout the course, students learn how to analyze a wide range of Paper 1 text types, including articles, speeches, advertisements, infographics, cartoons, and other non-literary texts. Emphasis is placed on understanding authorial choices, purpose and audience, and selecting the most effective analytical devices for each text type.
By the end of the program, students are able to approach any Paper 1 text with confidence and structure, producing responses that consistently meet Level 7 standards.
